I'm currently living in Northern Ireland but with only a passport. I'm a US citizen and I know that I'm allowed to stay for six months with my passport. If I overstay my leave to enter will ukba come out to my friends address, that I gave to ukba when I entered the country, after my six months end to deport me? I do intend to leave but I'm not sure of when or how long after my six month period. Please help!

As a US citizen, you should not have too many issues to renew your visa for another 6 months. You should have done that at the embassy before it expired though.

I don't think there is much chance the immigration agency will go straight after you at your friends' house (they have much more on their plate). However it may cause trouble if you need to show your passport for some reason.

Thank you but I don't intend to get a visa. I didn't have a visa I only have a passport. As an American citizen I could visit for 6 months using only a passport. I didn't need a visa.

In theory you need a visa.
However you might get away with it once by making a small trip (a day or more) to another EU country, and then enter the UK again to get your passport stamped and get another 6 months.
However I strongly advise you to get a visa if you really intend to stay longer.

There is no other way to stay longer if you have only a passport. You need a visa for this. So by going through some legal way, apply for the visa if you want to live there more.
