Monthly Living Costs - Is this realistic?

    Hi everyone!

We are a couple looking at an opportunity in Hong Kong and have done A LOT of research about the cost of living from various websites. We would be grateful to have some feedback from those living in Hong Kong just to make sure we have under / overestimated certain things and that it is realistic.

We appreciate that people's wants / tastes differ so to give an idea of what type of people we are. We would like to go out for drinks / meal once a week (socialising budget), we want a reasonable apartment in Wan Chai / Central / Happy Valley etc (Rent) and will probably lean toward western products (grocery).

These are the monthly costs we anticipate:

    Rent -$ 30,000.00
    Government Tax -$ 1,500.00
    Management Fee (900ft) -$ 1,800.00
    Broadband & Phone -$ 500.00
    Cell Phone -$ 200.00
    Cell Phone -$ 200.00
    Electric -$ 1,000.00
    Gas -$ 500.00
    Water -$ 500.00

    Others
    Food -$ 12,000.00
    Transportation -$ 1,612.00
    Transportation -$ 1,612.00
    Socialising -$ 5,000.00

We would be very grateful for any feedback / help!

    Thanks in advance :)
