Hello and welcome to EasyExpat.com -

This topic is specifically dedicated to new comers in Dominican Republic. We invite you to introduce yourself here!

Why have you come here? Is it for internship? Studies? A job? Or simply in order to discover new lands?

If you have already secured a job, how did you find it? How long do you think you will stay in Dominican Republic?

How was your move? What happened for your first steps here?

What was the easiest thing / the most difficult to adapt to?

Thanks in advance for your answers and here’s to a good discussion! :D

    Hi everyone or anyone,

My name is Kta and I am interested in migrating to the Dominican Rep with my family, just to...explore new lands. We need a challenge, and a new adventure is always inspiringly awesome.

Although I am a Registered Nurse (RN) and my husband a Firefighter, we have not yet secured employment. We have only recently decided on this quest, so we still live in Trinidad at the moment. We have begun an online search, but we'd really like to hear first hand from you about the country. What area would you say is the best place to live, keeping in mind that we have two small children, ages 6 and 1. Also, we are Seventh-day Adventists and would like to be near a church/school or a community with our fellow believers. We live in the country now and like that type of living, however, we don't want to be tribal; modern conveniences are needed :). We would need to be near public transportation too. Any areas in mind?

I think that is a great start. I look forward to hearing from someone. Thanks alot.
