Hey Nicky !

I just came across your message and was saying to myself that your feedback on these first weeks would be interesting. I'll be in the same position in less than three weeks, going to Montreal for a new job, and I don't know anyone over there, so I'm kinda fearing it and would love to get in touch with other expats to share experiences, tips, whatever.. :)

I'm a french 31 yo male
Get back to me with a pm and maybe we chat sometime ?

Cheers
Greg

hello Greg
how are you?thanks for your reply
well right im just freezing so im trying to get my mind of the cold,
but then again i was in Paris almost 2 weeks ago and i was cold there too; it wasn't as bas as here though ...
how long are you staying here?do u have a place to stay?
i'm an expat kid so i'm use to travelling,but before i had school and stuff to meet new people ; now well except for other expat kids that i met up with here i don't really know anybody.
its a beautiful city,people here are very open,and giving,plus its safe (very important for me after 9yrs of terror in johannesburg) and every thing is accessible,well lets put it this way,its like the Suisse of America lol

Well at the moment i'm looking for a place to stay, but from France it's not easy.. I'll be there until september (for starters) and my work is located Place Ville Marie, so I'd like not to settle down too far if possible !
By the way I didn't get if you were a guy or a girl ?

I signed up on Kijiji tonight to give it a try, and answered a couple ads already :) Happy to know there are some good deals on it hehe
Preferably furnished I'd say, as I'd rather save my money to enjoy the city and stuff, and there's something under $500 it's perfect. Anyway I think I'll go for a sublet and roommates, maybe it's easier don't you think ?

yeah you're right its not a bad idea;
plus you'll get to meet new people,and won't start out alone;
but how would you know if its the right person to share almost a year of your life with from that far?although,personnaly i'm not a bif fan of housemates,and most of my friends who tried it didn't really have anything good to say about it! but like i said its a better solution then loneliness i guess!
we can help you out for a few days if u still haven't find a place by then
but its easy to find accomodation here

Hi everybody,

My name is Dave, i'm 24 and i'm from montreal. I spent a couple of months abroad in europe and since i really got used to hang out with different people from elsewhere, I thought it might be cool to try to organise a meeting with people from outside montreal. Would anyone of you would like to meet this friday at the metro mont-royal at 20h to go out for a drink? Could be a nice oportunity to meet real montrealers and practice your french ;). you can send me a confirmation at san_go_ten@hotmail.com hope to get a lot of answers ;)
