My British finance has convinced his employer to allow him to continue his work contract in Barcelona. So we are moving to Spain in Jan 2006 :D . I am an Australian who at the moment has a leave to remain in the UK based on a 'defacto visa' with my finance.
We do not plan on getting maried until October next year and therefore on all Spanish resident visa application forms, it seems impossible for me to obtain a resident visa until we are married. Does anyone know if there is a 'defacto' or dependent equilavent visa in Spain? (as there is in the UK)
I also want to work once in Spain and therefore I would need some visa to make it legal (although I have heard of many illegal non eu citizen working in Spain).
It all seems very complex to me atm so any advice, greatly appreciated.

    Hi melteaches

Sounds very complicated. You may want to try a specialist visa company. You should be able to find one on our Immigration Visa page.

    Hope it helps you

    Regards
