Moving to Work in Spain

Postby Jan » Fri Jan 21, 2005 7:57 pm

Hi,

Good topic but a very old theme. Presently there are many UK residents who would like to step into similar jobs they hold in their home country in an area of Spain which appeals to them.
I recently read that there is an evergrowing group of commuter expats, i.e. they work in the UK and fly home to Spain for the weekends, it is just a thought....
I do not know if there is any opening for your husband in the area of Valencia but put it this way, if a Spanish family relocated to London without any knowledge of the English language, could they expect to find similar well paid jobs as they had back in their home country?
I doubt it!
Sorry for being so hard but basically it is a language problem which most don't want to face head on, without Spanish in Spain it´s hard going.
However, if your husband has determination, an open mind and wishes a change of life, perhaps he could find some temporary work where he does not need to communicate in Spanish whilst learning the lingo.
After all, English is an asset to have in Spain when you are seeking employment and it is sought after in most sectors. All he needs is a little Spanish to go with it... Good luck.

Sorry Admin! I didn't take the time to look very hard at the buttons on this board before posting.

My posting should have been in reply to topic on "Living and working in Valencia" by Fredda. My apologies to readers.
