    I am a Europeean pjocect engineer moving to Guatemala city on a one year contract - before negotiating salary and relocation with my employer, I would like to ask this forum how much the monthly living expenses are in Guatemala city considering we are a family with two pre-school children, wanting to live under comfortable and safe conditions.

    I would also like to get contact to scandinavians who have experience living and working in this particular country.

    Hey Alan, hope being fine, I know is a little late but anyways, just in case right.
    Well the living expenses, depends here in Guatemala but is around $1,500- $3,000
    Where to live? Condos are the best option, Guatemala City is divided in "Zonas" (zones), the best option to live at are Zona 10, 14, or 15. There is a place called Carretera Al Salvador (El Salvador´s Highway) that is safe and exclusive too.
