Moving to Munich

Postby Marie-Andrée Bernard » Tue Jun 07, 2011 2:49 am

Hi!

I am from Canada and I am moving to Munich in August, for 3-4 years. I will be working for my government office as a foreing diplomat.

I would be looking forward to meet new friends in Munich. I am 31 years old and I enjoy much sports, travelling, outdoor, skiing, dinner with friends.

Anyone based in Munich, just let me know!

Marie-Andree

Welcome to Germany Marie-Andree! I am based in Berlin, but hopefully some other expats will reach out on here.

Wanted to let you know about the EasyExpat guide to Munich. It should be of use to setting up your household and finding out more about being an expat in Munich.

There are also two expat interviews from expats in Germany which might interest you:

Hi Aurélien and welcome on EasyExpat.
I hope you will enjoy Munich, it has a very nice centre (and despite being hot with a continental climate, it's not really the case this year  )

As you live in the city, you might also be able to contribute and add comments at the bottom of articles in the Munich city guide in English (and in French too). Details about contribution at the bottom of articles are here.

Hello Marie-Andrée and Aurélien and all other Munich fans!
My name is David (38 yrs) and I am planning to make also a 3 year move to Munich.
I am visiting Munich next week (Mon-Wed) to walk/bike in areas where I can rent an appartment (do you have any advice which districts to focus on).
And I also like to feel / see / enjoy the city more, so if I can join with you and your friends, somewhere / some time? That would be great !
Thanks for your tips so far and have a nice day!
Kind regards from Holland, ciao David.
