A good place for you to start is with the Guide to Berlin. As a German citizen your husband should be free to move to Germany with little restriction. And as his family, you should be able to apply to stay as well. What is your nationality? Consult the section on visas. I also recommend you check out expat blogs in Germany as they are great resource for life in the country.

Hope your plans are going well & look forward to hearing about your move. As an American expat in Berlin, I am always interested in new people moving to the country.

You need your residence registration first in order to apply for a residency permit. Once you have obtained the Anmeldebestätigung, take it to the immigration office to get your residency permit. http://www.Jobswiki.org or http://www.Wikitraveljobs.org are some online websites that will help you to find accommodation in Germany.

Jobswiki and Wikitraveljobs are both the same site and seem to be based on the http://wikitravel.org project, created in 2003 for travelers and inspired by Wikipedia.

Yes, you and your family should be able to move without a problem. He can work self employed and as freelancer. The other option is to seek employment within a firm. I recommend using this website for further information about how to find a job in Germany, types of freelancing work and information about anything you need with regards to Visas, residence permits, etc

In time of the internet I would definitely try to work as a freelancer. But even then you have to register a "company" first. It can be an individual company with you as the owner and it cost about 20-30 € depending on the state you want to live in (and it only takes about 30 minutes to do so).

You could work as a translator or virtual assistant, job boards like Odesk or Fernarbeit should help.

And also make sure you don't forget anything when moving: https://www.hausfrage.de/umzugscheckliste/
