Is there a way to attain the right to live and work in Ireland so that I can join my significant other? The outcome is matrimony, but I don't really want us to have to rush it in order to be together. I am a US citizen. I know I can take up residency by going down to a police station and getting a green book. Is there a way around the job issues? My profession isn't one of the ones listed as being allowed. I have a degree in education as well as child care and clerical experience.
    Thanks!

In theory if you can find a job, you will be allowed to say, assuming that you've got the necessary papers. I do not know about Ireland but in England they miss teatchers for sure.
