Monaco - Tax

Postby suziabi » Wed May 12, 2010 1:30 pm

Can someone please tell me the answer to the following situation:

i'm moving to monaco to live with boyfriend but i will be still working for an english company and just working from there instead of the uk. Therefore i just need to know if i will still be paying tax on this money as it will be going into my english bank account.

I'm assuming that i still have to pay tax on it, even though i'll be declaring myself as a non-resident of the uk.

So, to get around this, do i have to create a bank account in monaco (which i will do with my boyfriend anyway)? By getting paid into my monaco bank account, would this stop tax coming out?

Thanks!
Suziabi

You will still have to pay tax to the UK tax man...I know it sucks ! You can contact them at below link for information specific to your case.

Well my dad worked in qatar last year but was still paid from a uk company and he was given a non-taxable status which meant he just paid national insurance for a year and no tax... Might be different for monaco but i'll have a dig around. Thanks for the link!
