I'll tell you what I found out. I live in the US my fiancee is in the UK. It's better to file the K-1 visa and depending on where she lives it will take 3-4 months. She has to file the paperwork. You can do this online and it costs about $177. The K-1 visa once approved will allow you to come into the country permanently. You only have 90 days from the day of approval to marry your mate. The only downfall is that you cannot leave the country unless you apply and are approved for what's called Advance Parole. I hope this helps.
