On Monday 16th January Milan has startedits own Congestion charge, following the scheme implemented in London. The CC zone will be accessible through 43 points monitored by a video surveillance system able to cover every access for which 5 euros must be paid (London's was £5 initially, then it became £8 3 years ago and is now £10 It seems likely that it will follow the same path ).

The Milan local government claims to the aim of reducing traffic and pollution... however if it follows the path of the British capital it will become soon a very lucrative source of income for the Italian city.
