Hi Ella,

I too am new to Paris and looking for people to meet and hang out with. I lived in Taiwan for two years before this and fully know how difficult it is to begin to make those acquaintances! ARG!!!

Anyhow...feel free to drop me a message if you want to hang out sometime.

Take care,
Caroline

French conversation badly needed!

Postby mingli1975 » Tue Sep 13, 2005 5:17 pm

Hi all,

Having read this message board I agree that its far more sensible to meet and learn French then pay somebody for the lessons. I have been in Paris for while but still havent got the hang of French.

Would be great if we could exchange English for French conversation. I'd be happy to spend some time to teach some English. I'm pretty basic at French so you'll have an easy time!!!

If you are interested in meeting up one evening or during the weekend sometime, contact me on mingli1975@yahoo.com

Ciao for now.

Ming :D

Girls, a good way of meeting people (although not necessarily improving your French - everyone speaks English), is a group called Meet Up. I know there is another one mentioned on here called Meet In but I've not been to that one. Anyway, we meet at least once a month, usually in a bar; there's nothing dodgy about it and Juli, the girl who runs it, is lovely, she'll come out to meet you if you don't want to come in on your own and she'll introduce you to people.
There are several meet up groups in Paris, catering for all different interests, but the new in town one is pretty young: http://newintown.meetup.com/39/
