Meet people in Paris

Postby sarah8 » Mon Sep 18, 2006 7:53 am

Hi everyone! I am an American, in my mid twenties and just moved here from San Francisco. I would love to meet some people here, (preferably girls, as I am really missing my girlfriends back home!) which I've found to be fairly difficult, as I work from home. It seems that there are alot of people in similar situations, so if you'd like to meet up, please respond w/ you email, etc. Thanks!

hello

I'm a married young girl living in parisian zone. I'd like to meet some people, specially femmes or young married couples like us to hang out with friends sometimes or in the weekends or travel partners... etc
And looking forward to a solid friendship.

I like going out to see the sights, I love dancing, and I travel often. Or sometimes i just like to chill with girlfriends at my house.

you need to improve your french ?

Postby jerem94 » Fri Apr 20, 2007 6:40 pm

Hello,

I am a man of 29 years old, living in Paris for 5 years.
I work in finance and business intelligence, trying to improve data qualities.

At the moment I really need to improve my english, and for this, I need to speak english.
So I am looking for people (boys & girls) speaking english (from US or england ...) who would accept to pass a moment with me (around a drink in a café for instance, juste a walk in paris or anything else ...) : what I could propose is 1 time we speak in french, like that you performe your french language, and one time we speak english ...

We could for example 1 or 2 times by week after work.

If you are interested, don't hesitate to contact me.

jeremie94000-meet@yahoo.fr

To resume, my first goal is to improve my language ... then if it permits to meed new friend, it is greater.

(I hope my message is correct !)

With pleasure,

Jérémie

Hi Shona,
As Joko said there are always meetin meetings.
Also there is the monthly Kunveno meeting at Carr's http://www.kunveno.com/gb/Kunveno_in_Pa ... paris.html

And on the same website other exchange websites:
ARTPPETIZER
the Cercle Suédois
Dinner party in Paris
El Duende
Dutch in Paris
Europe Plus
Italians in Paris
Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research
Speaking spanish in Paris

 http://www.kunveno.com/gb/Kunveno_in_Pa ... hange.html

And if you can wait a bit we could find a few people and meet for a drink when I'm in Paris, end of the month ;-)

What about Sunday afternoon, Paris-Plage? The weather shouldn't be extra-warm but at least no rain...
Any other idea is welcome of course.

Hi all,
It seems that in the last days many people landed in Paris. Well I'm one of this expat that finds very difficult to make new friends in this big city. I don't know if any of you already organized something to mee each other but It would be great for me to share my free time with new friends.

A drink tuesday night (14/08 ) at 21.00 in the Irish pub in St. Michael (just behind the fountain) could be a good start?

My email is attilio25@hotmail.com

Ciao and I hope to see u soon

Attilio

get-together for foreigners in Paris

Postby leen00 » Thu Nov 29, 2007 6:13 pm

I manage to read the post only today...
Is there some get-together for expats/ foreigners?
I know I have to speak french to learn french but sometimes it is nice to say a sentence in 5 secs instead of 1 minute...

please let me know if something is organised!

Hi guys,

I'm Lindsay, a french student who are really into language exchanges, and I created this forum because I am aware of how difficult it is for foreign students to meet French ones during their stay in France, and I know that a lot of students do not really get the opportunity to practice their French in a social setting during their stay here. I think that this is unfortunate, as it is always enriching when foreign and French students are able to meet up and share their different cultures and languages.

The link for the forum is: http://studentmeltingpot.teamgoo.net . The website is in english so as to make it understandable for the majority of foreign students, but as of now most of the members are French. I believe that it is a great starting point for you ,who are either already studying abroad in France, or who are considering studying abroad at some later date, to start meeting local French ones.

Looking forward to see you on the forum! If you have any request contact me via Facebook or on my mail address: s_tu_d@hotmai.fr
