Hi guys,

I'm Lindsay, a french student who are really into language exchanges, and I created this forum because I am aware of how difficult it is for foreign students to meet French ones during their stay in France, and I know that a lot of students do not really get the opportunity to practice their French in a social setting during their stay here. I think that this is unfortunate, as it is always enriching when foreign and French students are able to meet up and share their different cultures and languages.

The link for the forum is: http://studentmeltingpot.teamgoo.net . The website is in english so as to make it understandable for the majority of foreign students, but as of now most of the members are French. I believe that it is a great starting point for you ,who are either already studying abroad in France, or who are considering studying abroad at some later date, to start meeting local French ones.

Looking forward to see you on the forum! If you have any request contact me via Facebook or on my mail address: s_tu_d@hotmai.fr

Hi everyone,

I just arrived in Paris and saw all your posts.

My name is Alex and am 23. I also think that it is difficult to meet people in PARIS.

I think that it could be great to all meet up somewhere sometimes.

what do you think?

Want to play tennis with a group of international people? Join us in a beautiful setting in the parc of vincennes. I booked a court at 5pm for 1 hour. We can be about 8 players and alternate. Playing level is good to average. If needed, i can book an additional court. The place is about 1.5 km from the metro station, and i will gladly pick up and drive anybody back to the station.

Here is a little idea to make sure you meet people in any city you are new to: find a neighbor who has a dog, offer to walk the dog daily, you will be amazed at how easily people - and more especially other dog walkers!- start talking with you when you have a dog on leash. I know someone who used this 'technique' in Moscow to learn Russian.... and succeeded very fast!

Hi Rudy, Thanks for that idea. That is indeed a clever suggestion. Unfortunately, not all of us have a dog that we can walk. Our group at paris4u.net actually organizes events in different locations so just in case you don't have a dog at a different location we would surely be happy to meet you.

Indeed, which is why I said, find a neighbor who has a dog and offer him or her to walk their dog, explain why, you'll kill 2 birds with one stone and will have more to share with your neighbor!
