Living and working in India

Postby clare hudson » Sat Oct 23, 2010 11:54 am

Hi I am from the UK and I am considering a move to work on a one year contract in india in new dehli.
I am a fitness pro with 12 yrs. I am seeking to travel and work overseas. I have contacted an agency who have my C.V and they say I am a great candidate for management/head trainer/ teaching and delivering classes, nutrition and all other components I am qualified in. The agency seek excellent instructors from the UK to India (-New Dehli and a few other india countries), Saudi, Bahrain, Riahyd and Kuwait. The working conditions are very strict there, no going out on own, need to cover up etc, driver to take you to work. Im not keen on Kuwait
So I am also looking at India as this is one of the countries that the agency recruit for as well.
I have been given the list of the job role but some things she has not got the full info for. Im not sure which health club, the hours of work, general working conditions over there- all acc, flights, food etc is included which is good.
Is there anyone who can give me an insight into this. Is this better than Saudi? Or similar? What are the temperatures like etc. Are they as strict as Saudi?
I have been to India many years ago on holiday- Goa and it was lovely but out of the hotel complex it was very poor. However its the same with the UK parts are rich and a mile down the road its poverty.
Are there and fitness inst working in health clubs and could you give me an insight to what this is like.
Thanks Clare

There si actually an easy expat guide to New Delhi that will answer some of your questions: http://www.easyexpat.com/en/new-delhi.htm.

I was also able to find some online info on fitness instruction that may help.
