    Hi all

If there is a sticky for this can someone please point me in that direction? Thanks! :D

I am a New Zealander who wishes to immigrate to a European country, it is my desire to live and work in Europe for a decade or two.

What options are available for someone like me? Marriage to a European lady? :D The UK's Highly Skilled Migrant program?

I have looked only briefly on the interweb for some of the hard and fast rules of immigration to countries such as Germany, England, France, Italy etc, but I have not had much luck so far.

It would appear that the only option available to me is UK's highly skilled migrant program but of this I'm uncertain. Furthermore I understand there is a Catch 22, in that you can only apply after living and working for a certain number of years (5?), though a regular working visa issued to kiwis is for two years (while only allowing for one year of working?).

I really hope my ignorance is coming through here, I'm sure they mean for it to be this complicated.

So to sum up, what options are available to a kiwi who wishes to live in Europe, IT is their bread and butter, they have no descent from anywhere to speak of, and have no fiance/partner from a European country?

    Thanks in advance! 8)

    Cheers

    Chris

    Hi all(?)

    One day later...

As there have been no other replies am I to assume that immigration to Europeans countries other than the UK is not an option? Or is this a dead forum?

    Thanks again,

    Chris

Oh well thsi ain't the only dead one. Most of the information I was after (as in, what countries can I live in apart from NZ and Australia without having to marry a local) can be found here: www.workpermits.com

They have a nice breakown of what countries offer what, to whom, and what criteria is required etc.

Thanks and good luck to all, thanks Triple H.
