Is there a de facto visa in france?

Hi there,

Is there de facto partner visa for france? my long term bf is french while i am not. Is there any visa that allow me to stay in france and work? I dont want a part time lover anymore and i want to be independent as well. Please someone give me suggestion other than marriage.
