INFORMATION ON IMMIGRATION TO RUSSIA

Postby DIRTYLOOKS » Thu Sep 01, 2005 6:06 pm

I am a Canadian citizen married in Canada with a Russian citizen. I want to reside/live in Moscow with my wife. My wife is presnetly living and working in Moscow, and I am travelling to Moscow September 20th with a Business visa. I've been seeking information from the Russian Embassy in Canada, but they keep referring me to their website or to the Russian Consulate in Toronto where there are no answers to my questions. I have contacted the Russian Consulate in Toronto, but they are very very RUDE and they also referred me to the website and immediately hang up the phone.

My questions are: Once my business visa expires, can I re-apply for an extension? Can I apply for residency while I am in Moscow? Am I going to be asked to leave the country and apply for residency from Canada.
What is the Goverment body to go to in Moscow to apply for residency.
