How to find a job in Costa Rica

Postby EasyExpat » Tue Mar 16, 2010 12:09 am

Hi,

If you live in Costa Rica or are planning to move and made already some research you can help in sharing your experience.

What is the best way to find a job in Costa Rica? Is it better to go there on holiday and search? Do you register on some website? Do you use recruitment agencies in Costa Rica?

You can help and share information on:
 Useful websites to find a job in Costa Rica.
 Do you use newspaper? Online information sites?
 Recruitment agencies? Have you got their contact?
 Other ways/advice for getting a job?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience with the community :)

Costa Rica is a quite touristy country and as such it is reasonably easy to find casual work in the tourism industry if you turn up in the country and ask around. Many tour operators are run by foreigners, and many foreigners visit Costa Rica so these operators are always looking out for people to help out their operations. It helps a lot if you are bi-lingual ie. speak Spanish as well as your native tongue! I found work in Quepos for 3 months - the pay was average, but the experience of living and working in Costa Rica was amazing! Great beaches all along the pacific coast! I'd love to return soon to Costa Rica - next time I'll get a proper visa that allows me to stay longer! To wet your appetite to visit and work in the country, here's a great pic of a famous beach on the pacific coast of Costa Rica:
