Today is the Super Bowl which doesn't matter for most of the world , but is a big deal for many Americans, even away from the States. Sports bars are a popular place to watch the game like Belushis (http://www.belushis.com/). Some people take the step of buying a sports package and stream the game live. Either way, timing can be a challenge.

My husband & I frequent a sports bar in Berlin (Salamas) all season with some other Americans & various other nationalities. If you are in Berlin, I highly recommend stopping in to see Salama, our favorite Egyptian expat and bar owner.

Anyone having a Super Bowl party? Tips for enjoying the big day as an expat?

 

Surrounded by friends from around the world at our favorite Berlin sports bar, I watched the New York Giants win Super Bowl XLVI with 21-17 victory over the Patriots. Although my team (Seattle Seahawks - Go Hawks!) was not in this game, I was happy to see the Giants come out victorious once again.
