Hi All,

I am hoping someone, may have the answer, to the following question and issue, regarding whether you have to pay, property tax, for an apartment in Hurghada ?

I have a solicitor, who had claimed, a couple of years back, that he will sort, payment for my apartment, property tax, which I have in Hurghada, for a fee of course, however, a couple of years on, the same solicitor, is now claiming, that he has to do a reregister, for property tax again, for a fee again.

Hence my question, regarding property tax in Hurghada ?

Yes you do need to pay a property tax from the time you take ownership of the property
Also you need to submit a new property tax declaration form to the tax office
I have just completed this with my solicitor and the total cost to resubmit the declaration and the costs is 500 le

From what I know, property tax in Egypt, including in Hurghada, is mandatory for all residential properties, and it must be paid annually. The process involves registering your property with the local tax authority, after which you receive an annual payment notice.
