Does anyone know of a good place to leave a couple of cats in or around Madrid? Or somewhere (hotel etc) where I might be able to stay with them for a couple of nights? I'm moving from Ecuador to Azerbaijan this summer - not an easy route. Seems like the best way to do it would be a direct flight to Madrid from Ecuador, allow a day or two there to change planes (and possibly a little more if any other documentation is needed), and then put them and me on Lufthansa flights to Azerbaijan. They could alternatively stop off in Frankfurt, if anyone knows of anywhere they (and I) could stay there.

If anyone can think of any better ideas to do the Ecuador - Azerbaijan journey, please let me know! Costs of going through UK (my home country) with the cats are just too prohibitive. So far as I know, Spain and Germany don't have quarantine...?

You do not have quarantine but, as in the majority of Member States, a current valid certificate of vaccination against rabies is needed for dogs and cats.
