Polish Lawyers disappeared Help!

Postby worried » Wed Feb 11, 2009 1:01 am

Hi if anyone could help I would be very grateful. I used lawyers Icharsky to get my polish citizenship. And was awaiting a verdict in a few months time. I have written and have had no contact for the last month. I then tried to visit the website and it is offline. I am really concerned as to what to do as I have paid so much money and have had no communication at all.

Has anyone experienced this or knows what steps I should take? Thank you

Hi,

I was also Charsky Client.
As you probably know Charsky died more then 3 months ago!!

This cheater took my many and did nothing !!

After I found at newspaper information that he died I contacted with his office. His staff even did not know about my case status at Polish authroties! They told me that it is at Court.

I was furious! More then 3 years and nothnig. I contacted with this Polish lawyer Piotorwski. He checked my application status. Case was still at polish administrative authorities. He informed that only one document is missing and he promised me that I receive Polish citizenship during 1 month since document will be delivered to him. I did it. And after 3 weeks he send me my Polish citizenship document!

I wish that I answered him so late!! He informed me more then 1 year ago about problems with Charsky!!

Ps. Charsky was a Jewish Lawyer that had Polish citizenship.

Oh my gooodness....well what should I do now? Supposedly my application has been sent away with a pending decision for May. Is there anyway I can trace it to see what has happened to it.? I was suspicious when I hadn't received any contact over the last month.

What did you do?

I contacted with another lawyer- Piotrowski from Poland.

He helped me very much. He checked my case status at Polsh authorities. And he completed my case.

It is look that charsky cheated me. He took my money and did nothing...

Thank you for letting me know. I have been told I will be contacted next week by Icharsky. Although from what you have told me doesn't look like it will be the case! But from what you say this other lawyer sounds very helpful. I understand how frustrated you must of been and right now I am experiencing the same thing. I just hope in the end there is a good resolution. Do you by any chance know the contact for the other lawyer? That would be very helpful. Thank you.

Another update..I was contacted by a lawyer today who said that my application was not based on chronological order and could not give me an exact date. When the last attorney I worked with told me that the decision was for May this year. I was wondering with this Piotrwski guy did he check where your case was? Icharsky know of my case no. But what did you have to do to turn your case over to this guy? I'm just not sure if I'd be able to with the contract I signed to the Power of Attorneys.

Sorry just another question...if your application is still at the polish administrative offices, does that mean that the application hasn't even started the process? What does this mean? Thanks I appreciate any advice

Hi,

Sorry for late answer.

It means that it was not at Court like Charsky informed me. As I understood correct - Polish administrative office is a Vojeovda office (each person apply to vojeovda for citiznehip). This authoritity analysis application.

I have now given my case to Lucasz Piotrowski. He has been very efficient in keeping me updated via email. He lodged a complaint on my behalf because under Icharsky my case was without legal assistance. I should find out end of this month....I can't believe I wasted 2 years with Icharsky.

Really? Are you sure your case is completed? I was told my case would be ready May 2009 but after this time they then told me that they could not guarantee when it would be ready. Let me know how you get on.

Hi, I am in the same boat! I lodged documents in Aug 2007 with Icharsky and am waiting still. I want to get my original documents back and all the emails I have bounce back to me! Do you know what any of the staff emails are so I can try and get it all back? Any help would be great and hugely appreciated

Hi, I understand how you feel. I was worried and wary aswell when Icharsky weren't responding. I went on this forum and I read this link.
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1074123.html

It explains what is going on. I was told by them that cases weren't solved in chronological order, so I was thinking well any day now. I was unsure whether to change attorneys until I read the link above. It was the dame for me 2 years and nothing.

But since they were so unprofessional I decided I would change. My case is now with Piotrowski. I have been under his power of attorney for the last couple of months and am waiting to see what happens. But he has been very good at keeping me informed and up to date.

I recommend you read the link. I was wary aswell but until you read it you'll be like I was and do nothing for another year.

Let me know how you get on.

I also paid Charsky and am unable to contact the firm.
I asked the Israel Bar for information, unfortunately they sent me info in Hebrew, and since it's scanned I can't just paste it onto an online translator. Anyone who understands Hebrew can contact me and I will forward it as an attachment.

I have had my father's citizenship approved and mine is to be approved within the next month. I would suggest that you stop chasing Icharsky and switch to Lucasz Piotrowski. He has gotten the job done in 3 months.

Icharsky are unreliable. I had to find an ex Icharsky attorney on facebook as no one would return my emails!Ridiculous. So I contacted Lucasz and he asked me to sign over Power of attorney to him so he could check my case. My case was left without legal representation so Piotrowski had to lodge a complaint on my behalf.

Icharsky would have charged me 2100 euros for a successful citizenship whereas Piotrowski is charging me 300 euros. The saving in itself is worth it and he regularly keeps me updated. I know how worried you are as I have been there myself. But Icharsky will keep you chasing them, giving you no service or peace of mind and you paying a fortune and making you wait ages!!! If you have any questions ask me and I will try to relieve your fears.
But I made the best decision by switching and I'll keep 1500 euros.

Yea, I've already been in contact with Lucasz, and going to go with him. Charsky never actually filed our case, and our documents that we sent are locked in an office in Warsaw as far as I know, so once we get a new set of documents, we are going to proceed with Lucasz.
