I've been working as a freelance audio engineer in France for 7 years. I've been offered the opportunity to work with an american producer in Los Angeles, who could help me finding freelance jobs as audio engineer there.

Is the H1-B visa my best choice ?

Fact is that the producer told me I may work with him as soon as I get a visa, and help me find work.

Can I go to the USA without having a real job offer ? That would allow me to meet new employers...

Or do I have to stay in France until I get the job ?
