Hi all,

I am an Australian who has been in the UK working now for close to 12 months. I have recently started a new job and they have offered to sponsor me so I can stay in the country longer.

They are in the process of completing the work permit application however to have it activated as far as I understand I need to gain entry clearance by applying at the nearest British entry clearance post in my country of legal residence.

For me this would mean having to fly all the way back to Australia, Canberra to apply for entry clearance! Although I love it back there I was only back Christmas and have only recovered from the Jet-lag!

What I was hoping is if anyone has had any experience or know if there are any other British entry clearance posts in Europe or closer that will grant entry clearance to Australians!

I have heard story’s about people getting them from the Netherlands, Portugal or Turkey. Does anyone know if this is possible??
