Childcare in greece

Postby kcepp » Mon Jan 31, 2011 2:00 am

My husband is wanting to move to Greece. I am a teacher at a childcare center in US and I am qualified to open my own center here. I wanted to ask about childcare in Greece to see what my options are for finding a job or opening a chidcare center there? Are there alot of childcare centers in Greece? What are the laws regarding childcare and lisencing?

Have you checked out our expat guide to Athens - http://www.easyexpat.com/en/athens.htm? There is a helpful section on childcare in Athens - http://www.easyexpat.com/en/athens/prac ... itting.htm.

Best of luck in Greece!

Hallo,
I read your about your intention to open a chilcare in Greece.
I´am thinking to do the same. My experience as a school teacher and as nursery assistent in The Netherlands can be a good begin.

Would you like to ontact me to discuss about it? With 2 people is more easy to do something.

P.S. I know the greek culture.I worked there 3 years. In Heralklion is an international school.Maybe there is a place to open a childcare. In Athens is ISA with Melina chilcare.

Kind regards,
Diana

Hello ,

I'm 16 years old , I'm French and I foresee coming to Greece in June/ July 2012 for one month.
I am looking for a serious host family to welcome me in the capital.

I can do baby-sitting because I used to children and babies for many years.
I often keep children here in France.
I speak French, Spanish and a little English at least I can make myself understood .

Bye !

I saw this forum & thought I would check in on everyone's progress. We have re-vitalized the forums with new starter topics like Childcare in Athens and Au Pair in Athens.

@gallet - did you find a position? Complete info can be found in the Guide to Au Pair in Athens , and you can post about your ad on child care job listings in Athens.

@Diana van den Berg & @kcepp - Did you ever open a center? Maybe you can share about your experience in Starting and doing Business in Greece.

Best of luck everyone!

The Guide to Athens includes a section on the education system in Greece.

For personal opinions on the system, hopefully some people will share here - but you can also check with expat blogs in Greece as many have posted about their experience with the education system.

Anyone else have tips?
