✎ FR Carte De Séjour For Italian Citizens?

    Hi,

    i have dual italian-australian citizenship and will be entering france on my italian passport. Does anyone know if i will need a carte de séjour as italy is a schengen country? :confused: Unfortunately, my italian isn't good enough to work out the italian parigi website and the french embassy site in australia doesn't cover it.

    I first moved to France from the UK in 1997 and picked up my carte de sejour.

    This was renewed in 2000 when I moved to a different town. Three years later I arrived at the local town hall to renew and was told that the carte de sejour is no longer a requirement for EU citizens.

    Since then I have always used my passport to prove my identity.

    If in doubt then simply ask at your local town hall in France.

    Indeed, no longer a requirement for European Union members.
