Boarding School Exhibition in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Postby Kate Smith » Wed Feb 06, 2008 10:50 am

ACS International Schools to attend boarding school exhibition in Dubai, 8 to 9 February and in Abu Dhabi on 10 February.

ACS International Schools is to attend the UK Boarding School Exhibition in Dubai at the Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirates, and in Abu Dhabi at the Sheraton Resort and Towers Hotel, for families in the Middle East considering boarding schools for their children.

The event is organised by Sue Anderson Consultants which specialises in working with overseas families, international students and boarding schools in the UK.

The ACS boarding house at Cobham, in Surrey, England, is Europe’s premier school residency offering both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and US College Board Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
The 128-acre campus, only 30 minutes from London, offers secure separate wing accommodation for boys and girls aged 12 to 18. Rooms are purpose built and designed for two. Facilities on campus include soccer and rugby fields, softball and baseball diamonds, Olympic-size athletics track, tennis courts, golf course and sports centre complex with swimming pool and gymnasium.

Going to boarding school abroad can be challenging for students, who may face language barriers, cultural differences and the anxiety of leaving friends and family behind. But as an international school, ACS Cobham has a wealth of experience in helping students from many cultures and backgrounds to settle in and make friends, ensuring their happiness and well-being.

Every boarding student is assigned a resident teacher to promote their independent learning skills, monitor and guide academic progress, and deal promptly and sympathetically with any personal situation which may arise. School Counselors, campus nurse and resident house parents are also on hand to look after the needs of each student.

Helping students to feel at home ensures there is an environment within the boarding house which is conducive to academic success.

When studying abroad it is an advantage to gain a qualification which is accepted globally, and not just within the country it is studied.
ACS Cobham offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme which is fully recognized as an entrance qualification to universities in over 115 countries worldwide. Students can also study Advanced Placement courses, which can earn credit at American Universities in a wide range of subjects.

With students representing more than 30 nationalities, the ACS Cobham boarding house has established itself as a genuine champion of internationalism, embracing an increasingly mobile world society.

It is wonderful to hear that boarding schools are spreading around the world and learning and sharing things regarding boarding school. This institution would had a huge help to most parents and giving them the chance to have self-discipline and decision making skills and abilities that life could give in the future.

Boarding school is a good option for children who are already motivated to learn.boarding schools have scholarships for children who meet certain requirements. Excellence in academics or athletics could earn your child a free ride. There are also low-interest loans available to help parents pay boarding school costs.

Its nice to hear developments like these. Personally, I really see that teen boarding schools for struggling girls and boys are often a necessity for parents who feel that they have lost control of their child’s life. Today, growing up is very difficult and more teens do not have the self-confidence needed to make it through the early teen years and as a result can be easily sidetracked, which can lead to troubled.

I agree with you there Joshua. Now that more and more of teens nowadays are straying to the wrong path. Boarding schools, now more than ever is greatly needed. If this helps the teens change for the better, then I'm all for it. :)
