    Hi everyone,

I've recently moved to Neuchatel with my partner as he was offered a great job over here. I'm now here trying to find a job for myself in the Neuchatel/Lausanne area. I'm a fully qualified Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist but I also have a Masters in Engineering! I would really like to continue working as a PT for the moment but I really don't know what the best way to go about finding jobs is here. In the UK we had the Job centre which would be a good first step but I'm not sure if there is anything similar over here?

I'm currently trying to learn French but I won't learn over night obviously, so I'm struggling with just calling Gyms up to see if they have any vacancies! Does anyone have any experience with getting a similar kind of job in the sporting/health industry? And if so how did you go about it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The best place to start is with our Guides to Switzerland, like the Guide to Geneva. We offer a section on finding work in Geneva, with the more recently updated Guide to Zurich providing Adverts and Recruitment in Zurich info:
Are you familiar with the online recruitment websites (Jobsboersen / sites web d’emploi) Public Jobs? It seems like the best resource.

Also, as part of the EU job seekers can access the European job mobility portal EURES. This resource provides information about job vacancies and the labor market. It also provides information on the living and working conditions, and a CV posting service.

I would also recommend EasyExpat's Switzerland Job Listings. You can also network with other expats here on the forum, or through the expat network (once you've made a few posts to prevent spam). This is also a good place to expand your language skills and find a tandem partner. Expat blogs in Switzerland are another great resource from people who have faced some of the very questions you are encountering now.

Hopefully these resources help answer some of your questions and connect with those that can help. Best of luck! Let us know what you find and what resources help you succeed. :D

Hey there, you're lucky that you have your husband with you, i say that cause the coutry is actually closing doors to the emmigration, and not doing any more documentation that allow emmigrats to live here.
In your case, you have a great job agency that's called "Addeco" , they are one of many agencies that help us find something to do, I didn't use it, and some of the have employees that really don't want to help any more emmigrants, but if you live near Lausanne (where I live), there is one Addeco near Morges, i have some friends that were helped there, it's a really good one.
In the Migros shops/schools i think they have programms of studying french, it a really good one, not expensive, and in the end they help you find something to do .. the think is, they don't have only language classes but also dance, and some other things related to Sports, you can try there :)
If you need anything else just let me know ;)
    Ricardo.
