    • The working day consists of eight hours, the working week of forty hours (spread over five days wherever possible). Higher wage rates apply to overtime.
    • Business attire is usually formal. In creative industries, a more casual dress code is followed.
    • Business greeting is generally a firm handshake and eye contact.
    • Make appointments in advance and make sure you arrive in time. Punctuality is much appreciated.

    When in Vienna, you'll have plenty of holidays to explore the city and its surroundings. Like in Germany, most of these holidays are of a religious origin. Bear in mind that some holidays will only be celebrated by the Protestant Church while others will be celebrated by the Catholic church. The main Austrian bank holidays in 2009 include:
