    A mobile phone is called a 'handy' in Austria.

    Cell phone coverage in Austria is excellent. As with most other countries, Austria has opted for the GSM standard for its mobile phones. The cheapest way to stay in touch while in Vienna if you're here for a short stay is to buy a prepaid card. They are available at every phone shop in the city. Incoming calls are free while you can control the number of out going calls.
