For complete information on museums in Israel consult the following website:

Of particular interest in Tel Aviv is the house of one of the founding fathers of Israel, Ben Gurion. This is where Israel’s declaration of independence was read in May 1948, it’s situated on Ben-Gurion Boulevard. There is also the Nahman Gutman Museum where some of this prolific artist’s works are displayed (address: Rokach 21), the Pierre Gildesgame Maccabi Sports Museum at Kfar Maccabiah, the Israeli art museum "Time for Art" at Montefiorie 36, and the exceptional Eretz Israel Museum which is in fact a museum complex set in extensive park land (2 Lebanon St., Ramat-Aviv). The excellent Tel Aviv Museum of Art at 27 King Shaul Boulevard has an impressive collection of works by 20th-century masters.

For theatre lovers there is the Cameri Theater which was established in 1944 and was the first theatre to produce plays in Hebrew. The Beit Lessin Theatre was created in 1980 and its repertoire consists mainly of original drama, but includes also classical and modern plays. The Gesher theatre is Tel Aviv's youngest with a bilingual repertoire in Hebrew and Russian. Other popular theatre venues include Hasimta in Jaffa, the Yiddish Theater, the Puppet Theater at Yarkon Park, and the Orna Porat National Theater for Children and Youth. For full theatre listings visit:

The Suzanne Dellal Centre for Dance and Theatre is internationally recognised. For an exceptional symphony orchestra experience the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra is not to be missed. The New Israel Opera is based at the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center, next to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
