Adult and continuing education in Korea has grown much over the last decades
although it’s a branch of the education system which still lacks proper funding,
is not well coordinated with the universities and getting hold of information
on adult education programmes is often a difficult task.
Korean adult education focuses on the following areas:
- vocational, technical, and professional education and training;
- mental and physical health education;
- education for the aged; education for home and family life;
- Youth Guidance programs;
- public affairs and professional development through the Civic School education
system;
- short-term training programs;
- women's adult and continuing education through the “wife's study groups”.
