    Opening hours for supermarkets and groceries in Rome vary. Generally, they are open from 8/9 AM to 8 PM. Some groceries have extended hours until 9/10 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays, most groceries have limited hours and tend to be open in the mornings only from 9 to 12, for example. The most popular supermarkets are SMA, Di per Di and Standa.

    For a great selection of imported and international foods, go to Castroni. There are several locations, including:

    • Via Flaminia, 28-32
    • Via Cola di Rienzo, 196
    • Via della Balduina, 1
    • Via delle Quattro Fontane, 37
    • Via di Boccea, 173/175
    • Via Ottaviano, 55

    The IKEAs in Rome are open 9 AM - 9 PM everyday, and breakfast is served at 8:45 AM. IKEA is closed on the following holidays: April 25, May 1, August 15. There are two IKEAs located in Rome for your home shopping needs:

    • Via Anagnina, 81 - 00173 (Public transport: Take metro to Anagnina and find a bus there which takes you directly to IKEA)
    • Porta di Roma, Via delle Vigne Nuove (loc. Bufalotta) - 00139

    The most popular shopping districts are:

    • Via del Corso and the surrounding area
    • Via Cola di Rienzo
    • Via Ottaviano
    • Via Nazionale
