The Section Internationale Anglophone de Buc (SIAB) is a free bilingual school program based in Buc, a small town located on the Saclay Plateau near Versailles in the Yvelines department. The program caters for children from late primary level (4th/5th grade/CM1&CM2) to middle school Collège Martin Luther King and runs through to the end of high school (Terminale) Lycée Franco-Allemand, where students take the “Option Internationale du Baccalauréat” (OIB).
The program is aimed at English/French bilingual children of many different nationalities and currently has about 150 students in total. The children are taught English and History by native English speakers but otherwise they are educated within the French State education system alongside Francophone children. The program includes a wide range of extracurricular activities such an English drama club, student exchanges and trips abroad.
Entrance tests take place in March (Lycée), April (Collège) and May (Primary).

In your text you claim: "International schools offer the same education provided in the child's home country." However quite a few of the schools you mention are uncontracted private schools (écoles privées hors contrat) which do not follow the French curriculum.
You have forgotten to mention the Lycée Collège International Honoré de Balzac which is the only free state international school in the Paris region.

La Petite Ecole Bilingue-Stewart International Sch - 14/02/2005 |
| Bilingual School - Pre-school to fifth grade |
French-English or French-Russian
For children aged 2 to 11.
Relying on more than 20 years of experience in London and 10 years in Paris, the Stewart International School offers a rich and varied programme in the fields of art, music, theatre, sport and computer science in addition to the traditional French National Curriculum.
The school bases its teaching on the method of total immersion in each language. Small class size and ample supervision by qualified native speakers of each language allow us to monitor the children’s progress on a virtually individual basis.
Our school will offer your child the solid background required to pursue his or her education whether in France or elsewhere in the world.

Founded by Sylvie d’Esclaibes in 1992, Vive l’Enfance is the largest Montessori school in France. It is a private school, pre-kindergarten through grade 12 that offers an international educational program to students of all nationalities. It is located 20 km to the west from Paris, in a leafy area close to Versailles, near the head offices of many multi-national companies and with quick access to Paris.
The Lower school (nursery, primary-5) offers a bilingual Montessori education with an English teacher in the morning and a French teacher in the afternoon. All teachers are Montessori trained. The classes are small and we use a style of teaching where each child is in control of his own learning process.
The Middle and Upper schools propose a bilingual program of instruction in French and English within the French national curriculum. Students can study history, language and literature in English (six to eight hours a week by teachers whose mother tongue is English), as well as other languages (Spanish and Chinese).
The school makes every effort to integrate new students and every year welcomes children who speak neither English nor French. Tailor-made (even one-to-one) classes for non French speaking students, enabling them to master French (or English) very quickly, without ever experiencing a feeling of failure.
Many sports and a range of artistic activities. Highly qualified teachers always ready to listen to the students. Parents are encouraged to take part in school life.
Adien d’Esclaibes, the headmaster, is a Harvard Graduate (MCRP 78).
Exams offered :
SAT 1 & 2,
I.G.C.S.E (history, language, literature, French),
Baccalauréat S & ES
International recognition : the school is an exam center for the London Examinations Board (Edexcel) and for the Cambridge University Local Examinations Syndicate

| Open Doors : English Classes for English-Speaking Children |
Open Doors provides English literacy classes for English-speaking children. We are based in the western suburbs of Paris and have been operating since 1985. Our classes are compatible with the French school timetable and all our pupils attend French school. Over 80 children, aged 4-11 years old, are currently enrolled. We limit the teacher/pupil ratio to 1 to 10. We employ only qualified primary school teachers who are native English speakers. They have wide experience of both an anglophone education system and bilingual children. All nationalities are welcome but good spoken English is required. Open Doors is a non-profit making association run by parents. Fees are kept to a minimum. There are both nursery classes and primary school classes.

Hi there,
Please note that 30mns North of Paris very close to Chantilly, you can find a very good school for your young children:

Teachers are all native English, and the program allows kids (& parents) to settle gently into their now environment.
If you need any further information about the school, feel free to contact me by e-mail (no web site as yet about the school).
