    Childcare

Childcare is frequently advertised, but before trusting your child to anyone's care make sure they have the proper accreditation and licensing. You need to feel comfortable that your child will be safe and taken care of appropriately.

There is little difference between child care and pre-school in Moscow. Most child care facilities offer at least language classes and prepare children to be educated. There are a variety of child care facilities available within Moscow. Many are centred on the dominant language, but there are some that focus on activities like music. Prices also range with international schools being some of the most expensive. Most local care centres cost around 5,000 rubles a month, and International School cost about 4,000 Euros a term.

The British and U.S. Embassy play groups are a popular option. The American Day-Care Center and Pre-School (American Embassy, Devyatinsky Per.9, +7 (495) 956-4131) is located at the U.S. Embassy and costs around 130,000 rubles per semester for non-diplomats' s children.

The Little Angel's Kindergarten at Akademicheskaya maintains the main language as English since they follow the British curriculum. They also offer Russian, French and German tutelage 2-3 times a week.

Family Care, is dedicated to helping expatriates and offers services for both nannies and childcare centers. Located at Leninsky prosp., 6, this is an excellent service to check into for all expats.

Ms. Poppins is located at Prechistenka ul., 4, str. 2 and has a variety of child care options.

The English Baby Club is a Preschool educational center. Teaching children from 1 to 5 years of age, all teachers are native English-speakers.

Russian kindgartens are much less expensive and can offer a young child an excellent base in Russian language. Kindergarten 45 is an example and offers classes for many ages in Moscow.

    Babysitting

Babysitting is often done by family, a neighbour, or a family friend. Family is often expected to watch children for free, and babysitter's are usually paid less than professional care. Young women, often in high school or college, may offer their services on-line service sites like Expat RU's family section. Hotel chains will often offer childcare for visitors of the hotel.

Prices and skill levels vary greatly along with prices, but it is best to hire someone with some CPR skills and references. Prices very greatly with minimum wage at 4330 roubles a month. Many of these jobs are unregulated however so prices may be much lower.
