Public telephone network is managed by TeleCOM Italia, ASST, Wind and Infostrade. You can do local as well as international calls using public phone boxes.

You can send a text-message by dialling 186 (or from any post office). Public phone boxes use cards that you can buy from newsagents, posts or Telecom agencies for example.

By dialing 176, 24h/day you will get information on prices, phone codes, etc…

It's possible to ask information in Italian and in English, on services, network and rates by dialling 800-020020 (International Contact Point), from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.
