Note that not all hospitals in Luxembourg have emergency services and rotate coverage. (You can follow the schedule posted in the newspapers, pharmacies, and at the hospitals. The cost of ambulance services is reclaimable under most health insurance plans, but check your policy for specific conditions or limitations.

Some insurers insist on doctor authorization for emergency services such as ambulances and hospital admissions except for life-threatening situations. Know your insurance plans requirements as well as your Doctor's contact information. If the situation is not as serious, you should try to contact your primary doctor first.

If you suffer from a chronic condition or take regular medication, it is in your best interest to carry a written description of the condition, your medications, and other relevant details.

Emergency road services are available. For breakdown and towing service call the AAutomobile Club of Luxembourg (ACL) at 26000.

Luxembourg has been named by many reputable sources as the ""safest country in the world". This may not be surprising because of ti's size, but can be enjoyed by everyone.

The food and tap water are also safe. There are also no acute threats of natural disaster.
