Lisbon is a city of contrasts where its vibrant cultural past meets
contemporary art. Culture vultures rejoice. There are a number of high
quality theatrical productions that run throughout the year in the
city. The fortnightly Follow me Lisboa publishes cultural listings.
Event tickets are available for purchase from the Agência de
Billetes para Espectáculos Públicos (ABEP). Ticket

offers tickets to many popular shows.
Lisbon also has a wealth of art tucked away in its worldclass
museums. From the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum to the Ancient Art Museum,
the Design Museum to the Decorative Arts Musuem, there are a range of
museums you can explore. Click

The Sao Carlos Theater is
Lisbon's opera house. It was built in the
18th century in the Neoclassical style after the original great Lisbon
opera house in Comercio Square was destroyed in the Great Earthquake.
This theatre plays host to a number of operatic performances throughout
the year. Classical concerts are also held here. Another major venue
for music is the Coliseu
dos Recreios.
