    Cafes & Bars

There's a wide range of bars and pubs in Lisbon, and Bairro Alto is the recommended scene for some serious bar-hopping. Bars stay open most of the night so pace yourself to last till the wee hours of the morning. Whether you're looking for a traditional, down-to-earth tavern or a sleek bar, chances are you'll find it here. Some of the popular bars in Lisbon are the Cinco Lounge kown for their cocktails, B'artis is great for jazz lovers, House of Vodka as the name suggests is for the vodka lovers and if you're into virgin drinks, Side has a great atmosphere with a great non- alcoholic range.

While there are a lot of international restaurant chains present in Lisbon, it's great to explore the local cuisine. The Portugese enjoy seafood and when in the city, you should give it a try.

    Restaurants

Head for the Bairo Alto, this is one of the city's most lively areas and is crammed with restaurants serving local and international fare. The most famous local delicacy is bacalhau (cod). It is said that there are more than 365 ways to cook cod, one for every day of the year. Make sure you try at least one of them. Generally speaking, a three-course meal with wine and appetizers costs less than 20 euros. But if you're feeling extravagant, there's a wide range of expensive and even Michelin star restaurants to splurge on.
