Istanbul has a number of international schools to choose
from. Below are the names and details of some of the more recognised ones.
- Istanbul International Community School: This
school has a long tradition of academic excellence. It is a non-profit,
co-educational, private school serving the needs of the expatriate community.
It has two campuses, one along the Bosphorus near Bebek, and another in Hadimkoy,
near the airport. Classes are taught in English and are 100% International
Baccalaureate (not American). It is globally accredited by the Council of
International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and
Colleges (NEASC). Established in 1911, it is one of the world's oldest
international schools.
- British International School: This
is a private, co-educational, non-sectarian school offering high quality
English education for children from the age of 2 and a half to 18 years.
- MEF International School: This
school provides international education to the foreign community and is housed
on a 40-acre campus in the Ortakoy district.

international preschool catering to children between the ages of 2 and 5 years.
It serves the needs of international, bi-cultural Turkish families.
