Hong Kong: Work / Benefits package

    Benefits package in Hong Kong

Guides: Hong Kong > Work / Benefits package
    8/04/2010

Benefits package are less and less spread these days (see Work Usage) but there are still some attractive ones depending of the company’s situation or on your own situation.
In other words, the higher up you are in a given company the bigger benefits package you are going to be offered. Or if you are also very specialised where no-one else can do your job, then you might be sent off with a nice a package. The other good situation is when your company is on demand for you to go to Hong Kong.

Then in this case you are in a good position to make demands regarding benefits package. The packages usually include health care, dental care, retirement plan or rather, if they do not, you should ask for them as there are the costlier ones. You can also ask for education of your children to be paid, housing, a company car maybe with a driver (we are in Hong Kong here where cheap staff is available), a maid and even Chinese classes for your entire family and yourself through your work.

The only danger in asking is a no! Like they say, if you do not ask though, then you will not get it.
