will add a service charge, usually 10% in Dubai, to your bill. Taxi drivers
do not expect to be tipped.
there are loads of restaurants in dubai - dubai is now being known for the number of restaurants that are around the city. From street shawarma places to exquisite 5 star boutique restaurants - you have it all! I personally love options indian restaurant in the convention centre. you could even go through
www.menupages.ae for a good idea of dubai's food scene.
I recommend the Bandar Bride Restaurant, located Murshid Bazar Opp. Abra, behind Commercial Bank Dubai (actually just after a pharmacy when I was there).
Very local restaurant, serving Kebabs. The shop does not look great if you come from your 5 star hotel ;-) but you shouldn't pay attention and take a table inside. Apparently only one of the waiters speaks English, but that's enough.
The food is very cheap and good: if you go for a Kebab plate for 50 dihrams (£6) you'll be surprised to see coming a soup, a salad starter, some bread, and a huge portion of kebab and rice.... too much I couldn't finish ;-)
