Turkey has a very complex health care system because of the existence of different plans and departments involved in this sector. All health care and related social welfare activities are coordinated by the Ministry of Health. It is part of the law that every citizen has a right to health care. Maternity allowance, paternity and parental leave

Maternity allowance is not as generous in Turkey as it is in the rest of Europe. Working mothers can expect a maternity allowance of 16 weeks with a salary of 66.7%; the full salary is not paid.

New fathers on the other hand, can expect 3 days paid paternal leave if they work in the public sector. The private sector has varying rules and leave depends on the company and contract the person is employed at. No legal requirement exists for unpaid maternal or paternal leave.

Annual paid leave

Employees are entitled to an annual paid leave. The periods for annual paid leaves are determined according to seniority of the employee. But below are the general guidelines for the number of annual days off an employee is entitled:
