Volunteer abroad, Gap year

If you’re looking to do some volunteer work in Stockholm – for example in organisations such as Amnesty International, Oxfam International, Greenpeace, the Red Cross or the World Wildlife Fund – you can try writing letters/emails or calling the group(s) you’re interested in and ask them if they’re taking on volunteers. It’s a good idea to send your CV with your introduction letter/email and explain what type of volunteer work you’re looking for. There may be a formal application form or procedure to follow. The following website lists volunteering opportunities in Sweden:

Their principle is that living and working with people from different backgrounds helps dissolve prejudices and stereotypes and encourages a spirit of mutual respect and understanding, ultimately making the world a more peaceful and co-operative place.
IAL is based at Tegelviksgatan 40, 116 41 Stockholm, Sweden;
