Bedford Centre
I visited Bedford Centre in December for the first time since their reconstruction a couple of years ago and was well impressed! The expansion, the architecture and the choice is mind boggling. Parking is much easier and safer and although I felt at home wondering around, there’s no denying the upmarket, European feel to the place – especially the open-air Piazza. I was there on a Saturday and the place was busy but there was still room to manoeuvre. The centre was giving away a scooter and various advertising in the mall announced month-end Saturday lunchtime concerts. I browsed around the various book stores while my wife indulged at the boutique-type shops. We then headed to the Piazza for lunch and the open air concert. There’s loads of choice when it comes to restaurants but we were in the mood for Italian and headed to Ciao Baby Cucina’s – never a disappointment. The concert was great, the kids enjoyed their movie and we will be going back soon to take advantage of a night out of fine dining and maybe catch a movie at the impressive Cinema Nouveau.
