Taking a course can be a great way to meet new people when you're an expat, while enabling you to acquire new skills and broaden your interests. Whether you have a particular hobby that you'd like to develop or you wish to try out something new, attending a class can help you enrich your expat experience.

As the capital of the country, Bucharest has a wide offer of courses you can take. However, keep in mind that many of these are in Romanian, and a working knowledge of the language is required to take full advantage of the courses. Still, even if you don't, most people in Bucharest have a good knowledge of English, and instructors may be glad to help you or offer the course in English as well.

It is not very common for public schools and universities to offer courses to the general public. Most adult classes will be offered by private companies, institutions or foundations.
