Warsaw

 Practical Life

Childcare, Babysitting

There are two main types of childcare institutions in Poland:

  1. day nursery - for children aged between 4 months and 3 years
  2. kinergarten - designated for children between 3 and 6 years old

A day nursery (żłobek) is designated for kids between 4 months and 3 years old. Most of them are state funded public nurseries, with monthly fees. Due to the limited space, the earlier you will apply to the specific day nursery, the bigger chances an application will be accepted.

Children outside of Warsaw can be accepted to the day nursery only if there are still free places available and with nursery director consent.

All information about Warsaw public day nurseries is available at the website http://www.zlobki.waw.pl/

There are also many private day nurseries/babysitting centers in Warsaw. They are more expensive but provide children with more attractive and wider offer of activities.

Older children aged 3 - 6 years old, can be send to the kindergarten (przedszkole).
